Special thanks to Stu, Henry and Ian (Greymouth Crew) with the fantastic effort in the recent SAR rescue of my husband Brian Although Brian as always, was well equipped and well prepared for his planned trip , the trip did unfortunately take a bad turn and he was aware the day was getting on and the terrain was too rugged to get through safely within daylight He did not take this decision lightly but rather than push on into the rough area and risk possible injury , it was with much angst he eventually decided to activate his Res Q Link PLB I have given him for his birthday ( for my own selfish reasons :-) ) The helicopter SAR team arrived with the hour of the beacon being activated and they pinpointed his location immediately as he had made his way to a clearing and he had his vis gear on to attract attention Following a medical assessment on site and clearness given, the decision was to winch him up which they did with precision and skill We can’t thanks this team enough for their skill, professionalism and the great job they do on a daily basis for people Thank you so much
