Great venue, watched the blackcaps with the kids. Took deck chairs and had a great day/night on the embankment. Food and drink easy to get and great atmosphere.

What a great open place where the kids can play cricket while the adults watch the proper game. The atmosphere was amazing!!

First cricket match at Hagley oval under lights. Perfect afternoon and evening, plenty of space on the embankment and around it. Plenty of toilets around just watch out you don't get hit by a stray ball waiting as kids are playing everywhere. Bar was a bit small as a long line ended up forming almost continuously along with no paywave. food was slightly better but not enough was available and wait times were long.

Very very hot and a lot of traffic. Good area for a picnic and unwind. Close to bus routes and good easy parking

Outstanding cricket pitch and facilities! The new artificial lighting has improved it even more.

Great venue for a day at the cricket and not the end of life as we know it as was claimed by some.

A multi-purpose park. Running, jogging, dog walking, light training, sports, family outings etc.. a space you can easily utilise to your health and fitness needs and wants.

Great cricket ground with multiple public entrances for a game when a match is in play (based on test match early 2021). Some shade provided to visitors too during the game, compared to Bay Oval in Tauranga which supplies little to zero shade/umbrellas. I spent little time in the outskirts of the park but the lights are supposedly removable, so are not completely imposing on the natural surrounding. Overall, great location in the centre city to have a sport venue with ample green areas for family picnics, and nearby North Hagley park and Botanical Gardens within walking distance across the road including visitors centre and great views of the Avon River.
