I am a staff member and parent at the centre. The centre is small and family run and my 2 children absolutely love coming here and seeing all the teachers and all their friends. Staff members are made to feel like family and treated as such which is great. Numbers are small - only 12 in the nursery which made me feel so comfortable when having my 6 month old there!! The families at the centre are lovely as well and the centre provide events such as whanau evenings where families can meet each other. Such a special centre for my children to be growing in!

My niece and nephew go to Halswell Learning Tree and I have been picking up and dropping them off over the last month due to a change in family circumstances. I am a preschool teacher in Woodend and love checking out other centres. I have been so impressed with this centre and what I have seen over this time and also heard from my family. There is a great team environment and the teachers all are friendly and welcoming. They make an effort to learn about the families attending and the support they offer goes above and beyond. All of the children seemed engaged and to be playing with the awesome range of resources they have. Loved the outings they do in the community (temporarily suspended due to COVID) and they have a great parents Facebook group where they share all of the cool stuff they do with the children. Also love the sustainability factor with the cloth wipes, cloth hand towels, minimising waste, and vegetable garden that the children help out in. I have to say that if I lived closer, I would love to send my son here. Keep up the good work team - you have a great little gem of a centre!
Popped in the other day for a quick look and found the kids unattended screaming around. Shortly after one of the teachers seen me and popped over and was quite rude in attitude. No chance I would send me two kids here!
Both kids attend Halswell Learning Centre and I would highly recommend it.
