We were given a long table for 7 people in a quiet corner/room. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience from the vibe, atmosphere, to display on the table and surroundings. Nice and friendly staff, all had smiles on their faces all the time no matter how busy they were. Staff were all super attentive too, filling up water glasses and checking with us about food and drinks like they really cared not just an SOP. They also took the time to patiently walk us through drink options for big and small kids. Great range of high tea items. Savoury layer came with sandwiches, cheese tart, and a rice ball (forgot what it's called but a bit salty). Middle layer offered two scones (soft and tasty) with jam and cream on top, a cookie and a chocolate cake. Top layer has a citric pudding meringue tart, and blueberry cake. Good tea selection and alcoholic range.

I’ve always loved going to Penny Black, but in the recent months I’ve noticed the decline in some things that are just as important... Yesterday, I waited for more than 10minutes before my cake arrived, by then my tea was getting cold, and there was no extra hot water given alongside my tea, neither any serviettes that accompany the cutleries, and the white table cloth was rather dirty. This is something I’ve noticed happening quite often, and it’s not only my experience, but that from other friends that have been. It would be wonderful to see these little yet important details brought to attention, as I do love Penny Black, and would love to see it’s quality retained always.

A chance stop at these tea rooms and they didn’t disappoint. A beautiful selection of cakes, slices and savoury items. My partner and I shared the dulce de leche cake and the chocolate and orange tart and oh. My. God. Delicious! They are quite rich so go perfectly with a coffee.

I came here for my mum's birthday. The high tea was absolutely beautiful . The waiter was so lovely, he talked about what was on high tea stand. Our tea, food and water came really quickly. The atmosphere was stunning, it was so relaxing sitting in the cafe, the food and tea was absolutely delicious. The layout on the table was so lovely. We both had a great time and I highly recommend coming here!!
