If your kids are rugby-playing conformists they will be sweet here. If they have alternative ways of learning they'll struggle with the school's conservative minded management. The best, wisest teachers seem to be pushed out in favor of young inexperienced staff. The structure of the school does not prepare students for further education, though that may be down to the education system. Just send your kids to Hagley

This school teaches boys to be men. They teach it's what you know not who you know that counts. Pacifica and Maori student leaders. Not perfect but a fantastic school nevertheless.
