My husband and I took four dance lessons from Maggie at Sapphire in preparation for our first dance at our wedding. I have to say - those four lessons were probably the most fun we had wedding planning! We originally picked a faster song, and we spent two days practicing that - but then we realized we wanted a slower song too - so Maggie helped us do a dance that started off with a slow song, and transitioned to another. She and Debbie were so great, and patient with us. My husband's favorite part was learning how to \dip\ me, which was fantastic for pictures outside of the first dance. In the end, our first dance is one of the highlights of our wedding. Don't hesitate - book a few lessons at least!!

Sapphire is wonderful! They have welcoming, friendly instructors who not only know all the technical stuff that sets apart a great dance move from a mediocre one, but who break down how to achieve that difference into plain English. Over the last two years, we have taken a combination of group classes, upper level workshops, private lessons, participated in a few of the monthly social dances, and have even participated in guest instructor workshops through the studio. It's hard to pick a favorite format or dance style, as you get a little something different out of each - I would recommend just speaking with one of the instructors if you're not sure what to start with. My husband and I have had a lot of fun meeting new people and learning a lot along the way. There is a great mix of experience levels, age groups, singles, couples, and personalities at most of the events, and I believe that is a testament to the positive, relaxed-but-serious-about-learning tone set by the instructors.
