I just enjoyed all, decoration beautiful, architecture all amazing. So if I want some Christmas atmosphere go Salzburg.

Cute smaller market. Good food and gifts and relatively cheap.

As plenty to offer but as crowed as some of the others ones.

Busy market with similar stalls to the big one by the cathedral. We got pick pocketed when returning our gluhwein mug. They took all our cash but returned our passport from a concealed inner bag we had not accessed at the market. Hate to let a single experience set the tone, but in a week of Christmas markets this is the first issue we have had and it seemed quite practiced as our other items were avoided/returned in the short period we were at the stall. Would be cautious.

Beware of pickpockets!!! I was standing in line to return a gluhwein mug, with my bag zipped and closed and within 15 seconds someone tapped me on my shoulder to let me know my bag was opened. I looked back and my bag was completely open with my passport holder sitting on top of my bag. I quickly looked in and noticed my envelope of cash gone and went to search on the ground to see it if it dropped. Later I realized it was the couple who told me my bag was open who must have gotten into my bag. They had unzipped the outer zipper then got into a closed compartment, unzipped that to get to the money. After I had secured everything my husband went to try to return the mug and he was followed very closely behind by someone else who ended up not purchasing anything. Because how quickly and successfully the couple got into my bag and then my husband being followed at the same location makes me think there are professional pickpockets at this location looking for tourists. We've been traveling in Europe for a week already with no issues, this is the first time this has happened.

The gardens were a little drab in March. However you could see their potential for later in the year. Some great sculptures (including a grinning unicorn - and why not indeed). Too many tourists possibly but still worth a look.

One of the best place to visit in Christmas!
