It's been a long while that I've visited a good local Chinese kitchen that serves a mean lamb dish. This restaurant serves a famous claypot braised lamb that is tender and is sweetly spiced with star anise and red dates. The fried fish comes nicely crispy and drenched in a light soya sauce blend. For the vegetable dish we opted for the house specialty which is the fried long beans. They are crunchy, not overcooked, with brinjal fried in garlic, dried prawns AND... Salted fish!! Absolutely divine. Just the two of us walloped every morsel. The price is very reasonable, since we ordered fish. The restaurant is simple, presentable and the toilets are clean!! The old uncles serving are a delight. A must go if you miss good old Chinese country food.

Hakka restaurant feel warm when you listen to the waiter and waiters speak Hakka. Unfortunately when we wanted to order we ask for menu, the waiter said all on the wall their menu. Then no menu to refer. We have order 3 dishes to try on. And found the vegetables dishes pricey after the payment made. To serve better should have a menu to the guest to have clear picture what is serve and whether is worth for the price. And after the meal we are super thirsty too it may from the dishes overly salty
nice food, cooked by local, for its quality taste, is consider cheap in KL. one of the authentic taste u will miss
Another yong Tau Foo mainstay restaurant which offers a good mix of other dishes as well. Their humble beginnings in a rather quiet and unfashionable side road off 3 1/2 mile jln cheras had been a cottage industries hub in the 1970s but has now being transformed into a quite famed food haven. Their noteworthy dishes are the ubiquitous yong Tau foo that cannot be missed, pork rib in aluminium foil, slow fried chicken in sweet and sour sauce (ku lou kai), steamed fish head in ginger and chili padi sauce and many more. Both sides of road are fronted by eating shops and restaurants for you to assuage your hunger pang.
Get to visit the place on the Saturday. To be honest, the dishes that I get that day was slightly too salty for me, yet trust me, the flavor of the dishes were still pretty impressive and the freshness of the ingredients can definitely show that the owner is treating his business pretty seriously Strongly recommend their signature chicken. Tender, great sodium level, a never say no option.
Really enjoyed the food here. Price can be slightly on upper side but it worth it....
Maybe the last few authentic renowned Chinese restaurant other than Sek Yuen. Must try the soon yee fish. Very uniquely prepare.
Very popular, established Hakka restaurant in Pudu, with a good base of loyal customers. Signature dishes : steamed grass carp with ginger which has been stir-fried in sesame oil; long beans and brinjals stir-fried with dried shrimps; and Hakka yong tau foo. If you don't mind the slightly gamey smell, the stewed mutton brisket is also a good choice. Parking can be a challenge, although there is a parking area provided for customers, with limited bays.
