I go here with the family, it's in a nice setting with a church next to it with some nice views over uppermill. Nice place for a walk with the dog and a bite to eat.

Lovely welcoming pub tucked away in a quiet location. Staff friendly and food is home cooked, huge portions and good value. Highly recommend.
Great food and beer in a traditional English pub. Open fires, local workmen sat at the bar enjoying a drink and a natter after a day's work. Friendly, efficient, staff. Good value for money (two steak pie and chips, pint of St George and a lemon and lime: 21) Dog friendly. Nice hustle and bustle - great atmosphere. Definitely recommended!!
Was a bit disappointed today with my meal. We have been before and the food and service has always been good. I know its difficult at the moment and it's all table service. I had hot chicken sandwich, the chicken was cut into strips and over cooked on the grill so it was dry as a bone. My daughter had chicken and chips, good job she ordered gravy, that too was dry. We ordered yorkshire puddings and after asking twice for them we are still waiting (at home with a brew). The chips are amazing and gravy is lovely. Sorry church in but its a big thumbs down today
Sunday roast top notch. Proper fire. Nice pint of mild. Great country pub.
