Not much to see or do. But good to know where it is.

This is really important history landmark. You can spend 5 minutes here to claim that you had set foot in the birth place of Chiang Rai. The Stupa here is older than the city. It is more than 1,000 years old while the city was established here around 750 years ago. The city pillar was built just 30 years ago but location is accurate.

This historical pillar was build year 1263 by King Meng Rai when he founded Chiang Rai. Thank to him that we are here in Chiang Rai today. See photo for better explanations. Is at the North of city. One can slow walk here from city center within 30 minute. Good to relax and photographic. Local see this as a sacred place and offer their respect to King Meng Rai. Next to it is old temple Wat Phrathat Doi Chom Thong. The hight of the pillar has the same body hight of King Meng Rai.
