This is a fantastic place to visit. Admission is free. Three levels of ship history covering 2000 years of ship construction, tools, fishing and the ocean going lifestyle. Best collection of model ships I have seen. From memory there was even a small kids play area on the top floor. Was more than happy donating pocket coin to assist in maintenance. Worth the visit! :)

An interesting place to visit when in Trieste. This exhibition covers most of the great history of local maritime heritage, however, it's also a good example of an old-school museum. It's rooms feel pretty random, with a good amount of hardly readable information. The exhibition is full of detailed maquettes, but they feel a bit overwhelming after a while. To sum it up: it's a great place to visit when in Trieste, and there's no entry fee. But the issues listed before could be improved and the short opening hours are just ridiculous...
They close at 1 pm here but the museum is by donation. It's not a particularly large museum, but the history here and the models of all of the ships are quite interesting. There also tone of great places to eat near by.
Small interesting museum, especially the last floor, dedicated to fishing.
Nice place
Spectacular ships
