Very rude and unprofessional service. It's like they take special care to make your life harder. I brought the documents they wanted, they said I need to translate them. I translated them. They said I need to get them apostille. I got apostille. Then they said I need to translate the apostille too! Unbelievable

Even one star is a waste for a office like this, they give you contact details in case of emergency and then don’t pickup your call or answer emails. Need to wait for months for a small sh*t of paper..

Hopeless and stuck in the 1950s. How is it possible to not have anyone not speaking english working at the civil registry in one of Europe's largest capitals?

What a terrible service they are offering. Please, do not even try to get an appointment here.

(I'm writing in English but we spoke in German - my husband is German) Not possible to get simple information via phone, no one is there, the most helpful person is the security guard of the building. If you do interact with anyone in this office they are incredibly rude. We tried calling the office via several numbers given to us by another luckily functioning office in Berlin, we got one person to eventually answer and yell at us that she was the only one in the building and wouldn't help us getting *any* information. The only choice we had was to visit the office in person, but surprise surprise they were not servicing anyone that day without any announcement online or on the wonderful phonecall we had made with that wonderful woman. After getting information from the very nice security guard, we had to come again the next morning and wait outside in the cold 2.5 hours before opening hours. There were already 20 people waiting outside. Miraculously we got a number but surprise surprise the *only* person capable of processing our paperwork was sick and would not be in the office until February. By the way, we had to grill another employee to get this very relevant information out of their extremely rude mouths. I cannot believe this happened in a developed country... And this is just our latest experience with this office. Note: if you want to be sure to get an appointment, come closer to 6:30 am. Otherwise you may cut it close. Berlin, this is ridiculous.
