FCSS believes that: A community’s most valuable resources are its people. Each municipality is unique and is best able to determine what its own needs are. Citizen participation, partnerships, volunteer service, and self-help should be encouraged and supported. Voluntarism is valuable in that it allows citizens to contribute directly to our community. If you need volunteers or want to volunteer, contact us and we will match volunteers to needs. Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is an 80/20 funding partnership between the Government of Alberta, and municipalities or Metis Settlements. Provincially, the FCSS Program receives its mandate from the Family and Community Support Services Act and Regulation. The Regulation sets out the service requirements, that a municipality or Settlement must meet to be eligible for funding. At the local level, a municipality or Metis Settlement Council chooses whether to establish a Program, and enters into an agreement with the province to jointly fund the Program. Under FCSS, communities design and deliver social programs that are preventive in nature to promote and enhance well-being among individuals, families, and communities. The programs depend on community resources, often involving volunteers in management and delivery. The FCSS philosophy is based on a belief that self-help contributes to a sense of integrity, self-worth and independence. The programs developed are intended to help individuals in their community to adopt healthy lifestyles, thereby improving the quality of life and building the capacity to prevent and/or deal with crisis situations should they arise. I have lived at Parkside Manor for 6 years with Claresholm Housing Authority. It is the best experience I have ever had in all of my years of renting. It is run professionally with the Manager always taking great care and pride in making sure all tenants are happy with their individual needs met and the building is kept in tip top shape. I am proud to say that I resided here. Now that I have retired from work, the only reason I am leaving this wonderfully run apartment building is so I can move closer to my family as I do not have anyone here in Claresholm. I am grateful and ever-so thankful to the manager for all her care, kindness and thoughtfulness to me as one of her tenants. I loved living here and a part of me moves on with sadness. I would recommend this place to anyone as it has been such a delightful and positive experience. All great care is being practiced in keeping everyone healthy and safe during this sad time of the Covid 19. Thank you for all that has been done to make this such a positive experience for me. I live in one of the properties managed by Claresholm Housing Authority and I think it is a great place to live. The rent includes utilities and the on-site laundry room is completely free. Parking is available at the rear of the building as well as at the front and there is also free parking across the street.

Maxine lies to people about having a waiting list and then tells them she wont rent to them simply because of small town gossip and rumors. Her exact words I believe were \ I'm just not going to rent to you Sarah\ after questioning her reason for posting rental properties if there was a waiting list. I was never told to come and apply when I emailed her to begin with I was simply told that there is not much to rent until after the school year ends and that I would get a call once something opened up..... 3 phone calls later \my references didnt check out\...... sorry Maxine \what references\? I left my name and phone number and you contacted whom as a reference? Isnt low income housing for families or single parents with children? Or does simply lieing about having a partner and child coming to live with you from out of town get you to the front of the \waiting list\? Simple question from consumers who are checking eferences\ from the grape vine of Claresholm.... unprofessional work at its finest right here! Check please!
