Just moved new to the area. Was looking for a dentist. Dr Helmer was right around the corner thus decided to go there based on Google reviews. WOW, Dr Helmer and the staff were fantastic. Had to have a tooth extracted and Dr Helmer did a great job. Stephanie the assistant was very professional and courteous. Highly recommended. Would have given 10 starts if Google allowed me too.

Had my teeth cleaned today with Kelly. Very nice , personable, nice touch! I was a new patient so she did x-rays, measured my pocket depths, took photos of my teeth/ mouth, scaled, polished, and flossed. All with a gentle touch! Very thorough! Dr Helmer came in for the exam. Very personable, makes you feel at ease. Asks about my family with true concern! His exam was showing me the x-rays and the photos. He points out his concerns and watches. He then looks in my mouth/ teeth. All in all this Is the dentist/ office to take you and your family to. Also: their office is very clean- they follow all PPE guidelines. Very important in this day and time.
This was my first visit after moving to North Carolina from Tennessee. So this is my first reaction and this review is prone to change as relationships are established. The staff were very direct and friendly. The hygienists were pleasant and thoughtful in regards to any sensitivity in affected areas. I’m no stranger to having dental work done. So there was no nervousness or apprehension on my part. However, the demeanor of the staff would immediately alleviate any such feelings. Dr. Helmer was polite and professional. Our first encounter could not be defined as friendly, but by no means was it an abrasive affair. I look forward to learning more about my resident DDS as time goes on. So far I am pleased with Helmer Family Dentistry and will continue going there as long as I remain in Clayton.
I gave the practice 3 stars because I am a new patient. In order to give more or less I need to get established. Dr. Helmer is very nice & pleasant. The front staff do not seem like they want to be there. No hello’s, no smiles (even with masks you can feel a smile).
I had put off going to the dentist for years. The staff at Helmers dentistry were super friendly and professional. Glad to have found a great dentist!!!!!
