Paul and his wife do an outstanding job at the Wagner House. My family has recently enjoyed Easter and Mother's Day brunch. The decor is beautiful and food outstanding. Would highly recommend this historic inn for any occasion.
My son was married at the Wagner House in October. Him and his fiancee were promised several amenities that were not delivered; but since they did not directly affect the wedding ceremony, we didn't worry too much about them. The staff was wonderful. Always ready to help with anything, answer any questions and generally trying to make everything easier on us. The food was very good. We did not have a meal, just heavy hors d'oeuvres and it was all tasty and nicely presented. The tables were set nicely- all linens were clean and crisp. However, I do have one complaint- and it's a big one. Where the actual ceremony was held needed some major attention. The icicle lights would have added so much to the ambiance, but there were 4 or 5 strings that weren't even lit up and one that was lit had flashing lights-just that one string flashing was odd. The actual white cords of the lights were dingy. I offered to buy new lights for them to put up but was told it was a ground wire problem. But when you have people giving you their hard earned money, you hire an electrician. The ceiling fans had cobwebs. The white artificial flowers were dirty. This would be a beautiful place with just a little upkeep and maintenance. The maid of honor was there at 7 a.m. to rake the lawn out front so it would look a little nicer when guests arrived. I hope the owners will invest some money back into this business so it can live up to it's potential.
