While celebrating my birthday weekend with my wife and another couple, we looked for a good dinner spot. Not only did Alex (one of the hotel employees) recommended an outstanding near-by restaurant, he drove us there in the hotel's free shuttle. We didn't make reservations, so there was a bit of a wait. While we waited to be seated, we ordered drinks. Unfortunately, they were pretty weak. This was the only negative comment I can make regarding our Coasterra dining experience. The atmosphere was amazing! The outside fireplace and awesome view of the marina made for a breathtaking ambiance. We were extremely comfortable with the restaurant's sanitation procedures. The prices were reasonable, the food was most delicious, and the customer service was even better. The wait staff was personable, diligent workers, and extraordinarily attentive. Once they got word that it was my birthday, they made sure we received not one but two complimentary desserts. The flan was great; the butter cake was decadence at its finest! If you're in San Diego, especially Harbor Island, it would be a crime not to visit Coasterra restaurant!

Delicious food, cocktails, dessert in a beautiful setting. We felt safely distanced from other guests and the service was wonderful. Drinks were unique and strong. Can't wait to go back and try more - of everything!

I can’t stop thinking about my experience at Coasterra. Me and my partner are beyond elated. The General Manager Charles is a Star in his own right with a cast that is well put together. From the moment we arrived the atmosphere was set and it was so inviting. Rebecca was so attentive and so pleasant. What a joyful host! The food was amazing! We had the rainbow trout and let me just say that the dish was a showstopper and the pineapple cake dessert was superb. We are looking to locate to San Diego and if living here is anything like the hospitality and service that we received from Coasterra, then we are packing up everything and moving immediately. Warmest, Richard Jones Resident Ambassador

Beautiful view and restaurant. Service is ok but very, very slow. It took 40 minutes to get our food. Here is where good things end. I do know that restaurants with a view and good food do not go together but I always have hope. Hope is slowly dying. It is a crime to charge 18 for 2 tacos and 4 oz cup of rice and beans. It would be ok if the food was to die for but unfortunately the only thing died here was my hope to have good food. Fish was dry and very chewy, tortillas were not home made and not even properly toasted so they were soggy and peeling. How can you mess up rice and beans? Ask Coasterra, they have a way. Please come here for the view and maybe a drink and definitely not for food.

Nice atmosphere and food. Nice server. Nice view. Incident occurred later, after we had ate and decided to take few pictures outside, near the water, with the beautiful backdrop view of the city. Although it was only us in the area we were taking the picture, someone who worked at the outside eating area came by to say we needed to put our mask on. Again we were outside in an area no one else was around and trying to get a picture. Masks? Really? We are outside and everyone we passed as we were leaving, was walking around outside without a mask. Did this guy think we had just decided to come take pictures. No, we had just spent several hundred dollars on our meals with a party of 10. So you can imagine we spent a good amount to dine there. For two of us to be harrassed while outside near the water to take a picture. Beyond ridiculous.
