Most Menchies I visit are have a high standard in all areas; this one did too, except some of the cold, fruit toppings weren't replenished. Other than that, everything was fine.

On sat Jan 16th my husband , myself and some friends met for supper in Cobourg. For dessert we decided to try out Menchie's. Our mistake was not noticing that we walked in minutes before closing. The employee's mistake was not politely telling us that they closed in 5 minutes. Instead we all got our treats...barely sat down when it was announced that Menchie's was closed and lights started to be turned off. Now I happen to work in a restaurant so I know the frustration of people coming late but all the employee had to say is I am sorry but we close in 5 minutes and we would of gone somewhere else. Instead we were basically told we had to leave because it was closed. Again because of my own work I know this is not the case...sadly where I work once someone is in there we are there until the person leaves. Thankfully for this employee we gobbled our frozen yogurt and left within 5 minutes. When the employee was asked if we could have a managers name /card we were told no ....go on line and complain there....she was just following the rules laid out by manager. Now this may be the case or maybe this employee is young and just doesn't know polite people skills but in our case we certainly were super unimpressed with the cold shoulder we received .
