Right opposite to the VOC Zoo & Park, and in the Nehru stadium complex, the Government Museum is located among the shops. Its quite small and hence I had almost missed it, when I went to the VOC Park earlier. The museum has a collection of old coins from various countries, articles made using wood and bamboo used by the tribals, zoological specimen, and various articles made and used by people who had lived in and around Coimbatore region. It also has a section on how the characters (Script) used in Tamil Language evolved over the centuries.

When I heard about this museum...i thought it would be a interesting trip of mine...but when I arrived there...all of my joy vanished...by watching the condition of the museum ...but after entering the museum...me and my friends have to pay 5rupees each to take entry and i have bought a separate ticket for photography @20 for all of us...and we met a man who collects fee... knows Many different languages like Tamil, Hindi, English, little bit French...etc.He also had worked in "INDIAN AIR FORCE"️... after meeting with him...i thought I'm in my own city... Jammu. At the end the museum is an opportunity for the one who likes old historical things then must go...but guys if you want some fun then don't go there...it would be a waste of time...I'm telling all of this only according to me...that i felt there...hope you guys found it helpful... Following are the fare list... 1. Adult : Rs5 2. Child : Rs3 3. Foreigner : Rs100 4. Student : free

This Museum is Right opposite VOC zoo in coimbatore, Tickets are very cheap, collections of many idol's, coins, stuffed creatures is good. Only minus point is some unkempt artifacts. But a good spot for children.
