Railway station is neat and well maintained and lifts n escalators are available. Coimbatore is a serene n nice place. I've loved this place since my childhood n I'm falling in love with it more now. You'll find people talking nice n decent tamil with utmost respect.

Coimbatore central Railway station. 2 km from Ukkadam Bus stand. All train stops at this station. You have buses at any time from Ghandipuram and Ukkadam Bus stand to reach the railways station. Clean. You have escalator facility to reach the platforms easily. Reservations are made easy at station counters. 24/7 taxi and auto services also available outside the station. Many hotels, restaurants and lodges are available nearby . ATM also available at the entrance of the station.

I would suggest you to go to the back entry gate for tickets if you are in a rush hour. Counter is less crowded in usual circumstances. These days very few trains are running. Counter tickets are not available. Take tickets from reservation counters on first floor. But it takes time. Advise to take online tickets. Food available at station may not be good. A few restaurants are there opposite to front entry gate.

Coimbatore Junction Railway Station, also known as Coimbatore Main or Coimbatore city is the primary railway station serving Coimbatore city. the construction of the Podanur – Madras line connecting Kerala and the west coast with the rest of India. It is one of the major train stations in South India and the second busiest and revenue yielding railway station in Tamil Nadu after Chennai Central. It is one of the A1 graded station in the Southern Railway.

The facilities in this place is getting much better day by day. Currently they have installed an escalator for platform # 1&2. There are much more coming day by day. Also many people are not aware that parking, exit and entry can be made via the backside of the railway station too.

After Lockdown it is totally changed., they are trying to keep station too good.., kudos for their work

It was very much crowded noone was following social distancing and mostof them werent wearing mask .That was my first visit to cbe and the railway station was very small and I expected to be a bigger one as it was a smart City but it didn't.
