Caryn is a SWEETHEART! My two sisters and I made the trip to cold spring to explore the numerous boutiques and fun stores that cold spring has to offer and as we walked out of one of the stores we saw this vibrant, exciting, eye catching boutique that we knew we had to check out! She greeted us so kindly and we were blown away by how fun and colorful the store was once we got in. It was such a great experience and we bought some awesome things that day from her. She was so personable when we were all talking and we were so happy to have met such a sweet lady during this crazy pandemic. Such a sweet woman and we can’t wait to go back! Difficult for me to review this shop which looks nice from the outside and appears to be well curated inside. I was abruptly interrupted by a woman who told me to stop taking photos because she (I assume it was Caryn) makes a living selling products and people that take pictures don't buy anything. My sister was purchasing a decorative towel at the time. I told her that I review for google, and my review will help her store. Instead of allowing me to continue she told me I should ask her next time. I left as I don't want to deal with rude owners. (the other google reviews for the site appear to be one-offs as the reviewers don't really have many other reviews to their resume....) Maybe next visit she will be in a better mood and more accepting of me.
Kismet at Caryn's is a one of a kind shop, a place where you can find something for everyone! A truly wonderful selection of gifts...which they will gladly wrap free of charge. The owner is extremely accommodating and goes above and beyond for her customers! Let's all support small and local business! With thanks! Candice
I noticed a few have shared this same experience. I was going to (but did not) take a photo of one of the products I was looking to buy but wanted a second opinion from a family member before purchasing. I was on my phone for a moment & the owner came up with the same dialogue. \Please don't take photos this is how I make a living.\ (After reading other reviews I realize it was my own error I did not notice her o photos\ sign, otherwise I would have NEVER thought about taking one in the first place.) In my mind I COMPLETELY understood her point & was happy to not take the photo out of respect. But the tone she gave me was very rude so I just walked out & ended up not buying anything. A good friend of mine is also a small business owners. I COMPLETELY understand & respect why some choose to not have photos taken of their store & merchandise. (People unfortunately don't always have the best intentions when doing so) I also understand the owner is a single mom & respect her even more for her hard work & the shop she has built. However because the owners tone felt a little harsh it just pushed me away :(
Place is wonderful and the 2 ladies who work there are the nicest and friendliest person you will ever meet. The place is magical. I get a cardinal orniment every year. Antoinette
