Totally brilliant. I had a very old family Bible needing new leather and brass clasps. It now looks so good.
Many thanks to Patrick and team - they have repaired a very old Bible which was so important for my Mum. They have done a wonderful job. Kept me updated at all stages. Describe exactly what they need to do etc in such precise detail. They genuinely care. Highly recommend! Thank you guys. My Mum loves her ew\ Bible.
For six years I have written a blog 'leftyoldman' on WordPress. I downloaded the contents into a pdf using BlogBooker and had copies bound for my four grandchildren. This is something for the family history. Collis Bird & Withey made an excellent job of binding them with gold lettering on the cover. Though not cheap they were sensitive to my needs and most efficient. Well worth doing for posterity.
I was on my way to London and thought I call so they would finish my masters dissertation. I know it takes some time in the UK. In Germany there are many that bind really fast. I told them via Mail what I wanted and send them a pdf. I have made clear many times that I am in a hurry and need the 2h service for a reason. When I arrived they told me, that the service couldn't be started since I haven't payed yet. Everything they could've told me beforehand. I told them to just start now and payed the man. There were a lot of features he couldn't make, which I have already done in Bachelor's, like the logo and the cove sheet. Anyway I came back in 2 hour and the cover sheet looked totally different than what I send him. His answer was that he normally just does the standard cover sheets. I let him do it again, and came back. The font was off, the scale was messed up. To be fair he returned my 150pounds, but who cares about the money if it's your masters dissertation? He only had to copy paste and wrote the final title wrong. There was no more time and I had to leave with this one. I said money isn't the issue here. But there is one thing to mention there - price and performance. In Germany you pay max 30 for a copy of your dissertation and the quality is top notch. Compared to those 75 pounds per copy I payed. This is a rip off and I would recommend this shop to anyone. They destroyed what has to be done perfectly.
