This place is truly a hidden gem in Columbia! Just discovered it the other day after being here for 5 years and I’m so glad I did. Food was awesome and our waiter was so sweet and made sure we had an awesome experience. I came in with my service cat (hairless), and she even brought out a plate of boiled fish for him!! Which he LOVED! She not only made sure I was happy but made sure my little one was happy too!! I love this place!!

I live for their tofu thai curry
Good flavors and very friendly service. Reasonable prices. Despite the warning of slow food, our meals actually came quite quickly. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own beer or wine. And you should, because beer goes perfectly with the food there.
So the food here is delicious. However I would recommend that you go to restaurant prior to being hungry. The food takes a while to come out. The plus side is that it is all hand cut as it is being prepared by hand. The Korean food is delicious and they also offer a few other dishes for those in your party that may not be as adventurous eaters. I would recommend it but just know you will be there a while (lunch was almost 2 hours).
Went there on Thursday afternoon with my wife and heard they had really good food. First thing I thought was that they're a little pricey. I don't mind paying a little extra for a really good meal so that didn't bother me. My wife had the soup or stew with dumplings and I had a spicy Korean pork dish. The soup was very Bland and the dumplings weren't all that great. The spicy Korean dish I had was terrible and you can only taste the hot peppers on what tasted like to me, was old meat maybe leftovers from a couple of days ago. It has zero atmosphere and the place was filthy. The college kids might think it's great, but for someone who's had real Korean food, it was disgusting, I couldn't recommend it! Almost forgot, they don't have a bathroom, you have to literally leave the building walk down the sidewalk going to this dark Corridor which looks very dangerous to me for women and children. I wouldn't let my girls use that bathroom.
It's not the easiest place to find (I walked right past it a few times). It's relatively small once you get inside and the atmosphere is pretty unpretentious. But I was looking for good food, not a museum, and Blue Cactus did not disappoint. I had the Thai Style Curry with Chicken, which was generously-portioned and delicious. They took a little longer than average (still reasonable though), which made sense: the food is anything but mediocre.
First, I have to say the flavor of the food was really good! We got bugulgi and spicy pork. You don't get that much meat and the only side you get is rice. It would have been nice to have a little Kim chi or something for the price. The smell inside was not appealing, it smelled like backed up plumbing.
This little diamond is one of the best places to eat in Columbia at a great price. It's one of my favorite places to eat in the five points area but make sure you look at the open and close times. Columbia SC should be proud to have this place
