Good hiking spot. Family, kids friendly. Right off of I80. Large parking spots , actually 3 diff parking. With a visitor center that's closed due to covid. No bikes. Mud tracks. Rocky. Great views from the top looking into delaware river. No shops near by. Have a backpack with water, snacks etc as needed. Would have given 5 stars if we have nice bike trails around to get to the top.

A great trail! Little challenging for my kids (10 and 12), but they managed. If you enjoy hiking through rough terrain, very rocky, then this is the perfect spot! As I've heard, Mt. Tammany trail is pretty popular, so it was kind of crowded when we went. The views on top are breathtaking. On our way back, we stopped by the stream, which ended up being the kids' favorite part! The whole trail (went up on Red and turned back on Blue) took us about 3 hours. Overall, a beautiful hike!
At the end of our weekend we stopped here for some last minute photo ops and use the bathroom. So happy we stopped. Great views, clean bathrooms and beautiful hiking. If you want to spend some time in nature here is your stop. Clean, easily accessible and great parking facility with plenty of spots
A beautiful place to stop, rest, walk, hike, and generally find a little peace. There’s a canoe or kayak launch and a separate boat launch. Plenty of parking. Seems to be safe as the State police drive through periodically.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the visitor center was closed. You should come early to secure a parking spot outside.
I was looking for a moderate hike near my house in New Jersey, and this mountain in the Delaware water gap was just about an hour. I went with a friend. It's easy to find, has a parking spot, restrooms and picnic spots at the bottom. There are park rangers happy to help with directions etc. As it is right off the highway, pay attention to road signs to reach. Now about the hike itself. There are two main trails - Red Dot Trail and Blue Dot Trail. Currently due to the covid-19, you go up the Red Dot and come down the Blue Dot to avoid crowding. Same rule applies to parking. Rangers will turn you away if the lots and street parking are full. The hike is moderately difficult, with some fairly steep parts. There are multiple vantage points throughout the trail to your right. The view of the highway and the bend in the Hudson River would take your breath away. Another thing that can take your breath away is the hike itself. I am not superfit, and was exhausted at the end of the 7.5 km round trip hike. Carry water, take breaks, listen to your body. It's a beautiful view from the top and there is a small waterfall on your way down the blue Dot Trail. Strongly recommended!
Bathrooms were better than port-a-potty. Didn't go in the building. Not sure if it was open. This is where we had to park for the red dot trail.
Breathtaking view! We always make a stop here to stretch our legs and enjoy the amazing view!
