Always fun. Bring money. Lots, if you wanna have a superior time. Those extra bucks will cover valet parking, ride shares, bus fares, numerous available paid-parking spots closeby, tips, and the few panhandlers you may encounter along the way, should you be so inclined. There are great restaurants, pubs, clubs, coffee & dessert bars, retailers, artisans, services, and visual beauty in the Vista, from historic architecture to the natural lovliness of the Congaree River. Great destination for date night, girls' night out, family outings, or even solo walks, with much to take in, and the splendor of the State House grounds if you'd like to walk the gardens or sit and rest you feet at a bench, or picnic on the marble steps or the soft, cool lawn under a curated collection of shade trees. Why didn't I give this 5 stars? Because I'd kind of like to keep this review a bit of a secret, only to be shared with those willing to read to the very end of this entire review.

Why do you allow the obnoxiously loud muscle cars and motorcycles to race up and down Gervais street in the middle of the Vista...I promise you that Lexington will not allow this garbage! It’s no longer possible to enjoy a nice stroll after dinner here any longer!!! Enforce the laws people!!!

What's not to LOVE ? The VISTA has great restaurants & they range from The Oyster Bar, Blue Marlin & The Camon to Ruth Chisp oh I could go on and on to Mexican, Pizza, wings, chicken, subs, or heros! The Thrust Theatre a professional theatre where I have enjoyed fresh free popcorn & a bottle of wine many a night, Publics supermarket, Specialty Beers, hair, makeup, nails, Art Gallery, an exceptional Kayak (the name escapes me sorry) Carpet, Rugs, Furniture, I suggest going up the hill to find two we'll establish and professional pawn shops, music store, Jewelers, Gamecock specialty shop, Cigar shop with a secret pool table & plenty of sports on the TVs & a few walk-in humidor that will keep you entertained and the Museum and gift shop, a Men's shop that the fussiest hubby will insist on going in OKAY one more The (name?) The country store has an old fashioned" penny" candy dept that will bring back memories, they have the highest quality flannel shirts, softest cardigans and knife dept for hunting, cooking or fishing. Oops, there's a too notch pro Fishing shop a mile down Laurel & turn left you'll see it on the left next to the Pet store! I gotta get going I've gotten all excited! Hugs see ya in the Vista & later in 5pts If you've got no plans Saturday AM come back to Main and meet some local craftsmen
