Great stop for lunch in this quiet little restaurant. Seems like the kind of place that would normally be packed but post-COVID it was mostly empty. The food was very good, and the house wine was very much above average!!

Very good food! Yummy risotto with beef is really superb. Even the baked potato was delicious. Love it
Great decoration on second floor. The ambience was good. The food were mostly nice especially on the thinly cut veal and pastas. Good selection of wine. The steak was a bit hard to chew, and the potatoes lack a bit of taste probably need more sauce. Otherwise its a very good place to eat.
My wife found this on a restaurant rating app and it was a great choice. They asked if we had reservations. We didn't of course but they graciously sat us at a table nonetheless. The staff checked our temp before allowing us in, as was the norm for our entire visit in Como. The service was top-notch. Our waiter was friendly and spoke good English, far better than my Italian. We asked for a wine recommendation and they brought a medium-priced bottle of locally produced red that was outstanding. Reminded me of pinot noir though that's not what it was. My wife had pasta, I had the veal cutlet ossobuco. It came with a risotto side and was quite satisfying. We finished with tiramisu, a classic Italian desert that Sociale did perfectly!
1st impression was underwhelming. The entrance a bit difficult to find. It’s down a hallway. Once you find the door you enter into a nice cave like restaurant. The restaurant was pretty empty since they had just opened but there was little ambience, no music through the speakers. It was so underwhelming we almost left but decided to give it a chance. We were seated immediately but there was no bar area either. The tables were farm-like and nothing fancy. No candle lights at the table, and the lighting of the location although pleasant, could have benefited if it was a bit dimmer. The chairs get uncomfortable after about 30 minutes. The food was good, tasted fresh and home made. The prices were very reasonable and the wine selection was good. The service overall was fast but we were among the first there. The place grows on you after you’re there for a bit. I’m not sure if my timing was off but this place was not spectacular, just average or above average. No major issues and decent overall.
