I pay for 200mbps, I get between 6mbps and 130mbps based on the time of day. The nameservers they give you are also really flakey, a lot of common domains don't return any records. Had to switch to Google's servers because of how bad it is. Don't bother leaving voicemails, they have never returned my calls. They require you to fax information or show up in person for most requests like setting up the service. I also got an angry call from one of the owner/managers? He called to chew me out about how the technician who came to my house did a good job. I don't know who the technician was and I don't care. All I did was call in earlier to state that my internet was slow, I never mentioned the technician at any point. I think these guys just don't have the money or the infrastructure to improve the internet in this town. AT&T is the only competition and they give you 50mbps. Incredibly slow but I talked with one of the technicians and they're running gigabit fiber street by street. You can monopolize cable, but who really needs that in the modern day with the abundant streaming services.

And nobody else is gonna seek legal action or anything? Well i've had bad internet but wow. The cable is fine but because they know Charter Spectrum would put them out of business Compass wont allow it. Typical monopoly company but I recommend cancelling everything and going with literally anyone else \AT&T is only other option in Morganton\. It's pathetic honestly.

I can’t begin to explain how disappointed I was when I learned Compas had a stranglehold on Morgantons internet provision. I left Valdese with a great experience with Spectrum and was hopeful that Compas could hold a candle to it. I was immensely let down by that hope. First off, what I pay now for 50 mbps from Compas is what I paid for 200mbps from Spectrum. Secondly, if your electronics are not directly connected by Ethernet to your modem, your internet connection will suffer greatly. I have a game console that can run competently on Ethernet but our Amazon Fire Stick and phones WiFi capabilities suffer greatly. Meanwhile, when you need to get in touch you better have fun being on hold, waiting to speak to ANYONE, for at least 30 minutes. Go ahead and throw your phone on speaker, crack open a book, and have a great time reading it while you hear static-laden stock piano music in the background. That being said, they do provide internet so that’s the sole reason why I gave them two stars and not a singular one. At least I pay 50 a month for the *opportunity* to have access to internet. Maybe the reason they spell Compas with one S is because they didn’t have the bandwidth to download the second.

200mb offered before competitors outside town limit. I've had it for years and it's been reliable, much more do than when i had Charter when i lived outside town limits. I also like that i can pay in person.
