I've been training with Andy for a couple months and am thrilled with my results so far. Andy is a knowledgable, grounded, and jovial trainer who so far has found and corrected tension issues in both shoulders, and made great progress in fixing my posture and reducing my back pain. You'll definitely feel the burn if you decide to train with Andy. I'm on my way to being in the best shape of my life and Andy's highly focused assistance and excellent gym are the ones to thank for it!

I’ve been training with Andy for about 3 months. This is one of the best, possibly the best, decisions/investments I’ve made. He absolutely knows his stuff. So far, under Andy’s guidance, I have lost 30 pounds and significantly increased my strength (wanna arm wrestle?). A couple things I never anticipated: he assessed and corrected some bad shoulder pains that have caused me issues for years, and I fully credit him with curing my insomnia. It has only been a short period, but this is the greatest I have ever felt. Go see Andy, and you can thank me later!

(This is Geoff's wife Carrie BTW) Andy Bruchey has been my Personal Trainer for over 2 years and I couldn't be more pleased! I've had other Trainers in the past here in Austin, but none that were capable of dealing with/understanding sports injuries. After recovering from a ripped calf muscle for almost a year, Andy was able to rehab my leg and build extra strength and muscle over all. The gym is clean, has everything you need, and the members are friendly and respectful. There is no other gym I would recommend in Austin, and I've been to them all! This truly is the "hassle-free" gym in South-West Austin!!

Andy has been my personal trainer for over a year now and I'm very happy with the results! This is an Austin gym, not a national high-pressure chain. The environment is very friendly, supportive, and clean. If you stick to a regular schedule, you'll get to know the other members in no time.

Andy is knowledgable and wastes no time helping you get back on track. My mother recommended Andy to me. She went to him after she broke her hip and was having trouble being able to run again. Andy has been a great help to her so when I was having back trouble that I wasn't able to work through on my own I went to see him. I had a lengthy hospital stay that had basically caused the muscles in my back to atrophy. I was having real trouble recovering and was not able to get my strength back. No matter what I did, I'd hit a wall of pain and was set back even further. Right when I walked in the door Andy knew how to help me. He said that my back, hip and hamstring muscles were completely tightened up and needed to be lengthened. Andy has a massage table right there in his office at his gym where he works on the tight muscles. He also gives me stretches and core strengthening exercises I can do at home. I've been seeing Andy once a week for several weeks now and the transformation in my back is amazing. I can stand up taller and move more easily without pain. Now that my muscles are responding, Andy is having me do strengthening exercises with weight at the gym. I am not 100% yet but can feel that I have made progress and am confident that Andy will help me get back to normal and probably better than before.

Andy is not your typical trainer. He's very focused and knowledgeable. I heard about him before I moved to Austin and since living here I only regret that it took me 6 years before asking him for some training. I've learned an incredible amount from him and am constantly impressed with his breadth and depth of fitness/training/kinesiology knowledge. He is not a cheer you on type of trainer who puts you on the treadmill to lose 5 lbs. He is the type to recognize posture problems, weight lifting form problems and similar then put you on a path to correct them. He's great at helping find very hard to discover issues that limit performance and training mistakes - and I speak as a guy who thought he really knew what he was doing but wanted a double-check and have learned a great deal more from him than I expected and it's backed by my results. If you're serious about lifting or fixing some injuries and restoring function I have not run across anyone I could recommend more than Andy. If you're a young person looking to eek out every bit of strength you can he's the guy for you. If you're a bit older who wants to fix some issues he's right for you. If you're someone younger who isn't really in shape but wants to feel a bit better and get started on the route to getting healthy this is the guy for you. If he's not the right guy for you he'll tell you that right away and send you to someone who can help with the goals you have.

Andy has been training me at Austin Fitness Center more than five years, and it's been the best fitness experience I've had in more than 50 years going to gyms all over the country. He's knowledgeable in a wide range of fitness-related topics and we work not only on strength training but nutrition and cardio as well. A sample result: I ride a bicycle a fair amount (100 mi/week in season) and a few years ago I was involved in an accident that separated my right shoulder, tore all the ligaments connecting the collarbone to the shoulder blade. I had surgery on it and it healed well but it was pretty weak afterwards. Andy decided I need a some rehab to strengthen it, so we went to work on my bench press. Now I'm not a big guy and in spite of my best efforts my bench press has never been very good, but in six months of "rehab" Andy almost doulbed my best lift (dating from age 20 or so!) to over 300 pounds. Best health plan ever.
