Amazing experience with Tylor and Austin! They were very professional and showed us all about fly fishing and provided safety instructions and complete great quality fishing gear! It was very nice that they fillet the fish right on the river and helped us every time something needed attention. Thank you!

I had the distinct pleasure to have been guided by Alaska River Adventures on an all day Kenai River float excursion. It was a highlight of our Alaskan vacation. The guide was outstanding spotting wildlife, and her rivers edge lunch preparation was excellent. Her Knowledge of the river and canyon contributed to an educational, entertaining and awesome float trip.

We weren't sure if we would be in town, so we wound up calling the day before to inquire about the 2 pm Scenic River Float (3 hour, 14 mile trip). I had to leave a message, but I got a return call shortly and booked over the phone easily. There were no spots on the afternoon one, but we were able to book the 6 pm float. The advice to dress in layers is sound. I had a shirt, sweater, and light rain jacket as well as hiking shorts and sweatpants. They recommended rain boots, which we borrowed at no extra cost. Our guide, Hannah, lent an upbeat, professional air to our trip. She matched jokes with the inquisitive 9-year-old in our raft, and had some excellent puns of her own. Knowledgeable and friendly, Hannah provided information about the river, wildlife, and neighboring peaks along the route, as well as anecdotes from her hikes and previous river trips. Though I donned the sweater and rain jacket thinking it overkill (it was around 70 and sunny when we launched), we did encounter a light rain for several miles, which coupled with the breeze over the water made it chilly. It did warm up again for the remainder of our journey once we cleared the clouds. I had volunteered to sit up front since most of the other folks (we had eleven total) were not keen on the proposal of getting wet; though Hannah said she would keep the worst of it off us, a few of us in front did get splashed in the first bit of rapids. Last, we did see a fair amount of wildlife! Several calmer edges of the river yielded leaping salmon, and we saw at least ten bald eagles, including several juvelines. A black bear made an appearance shortly after we passed, and not long after we saw a black bear mother and two cubs. On top of that, the river is simply stunning. The turquoise waters provide an almost ethereal serenity amid the spruce-trimmed mountains. If I make it back this way, I'd like to book a longer float. Highly recommended.

The service is friedly and courteous. Our guides, Zach and Lucas, not only shared a lot of information about Alaska and fishing, but also taught us how to use fishing rods, how to spot a good place to fish and helped net the fish we caught. I just wish we were able to get the silver salmon.
