Our passion is for students to walk away from this activity knowing what they believe and why. Therefore the emphasis of our training is to teach students to examine the underlying premise of their position, learn to locate the values/mindset and assumptions behind positions expressed by others and articulate their position clearly & persuasively. We believe that students who have the thinking skills to analytically process the ideas they are confronted with in our culture, are better equipped to ultimately stand strong in their Christian faith when they leave their parents'​ home and influence those around them for Christ. Through speech, Veritas offers and instructs students in a variety of speech genres including literary interpretation, platform, and limited preparation speeches. Students develop the self-confidence needed to speak in front of an audience along with expanding and refining oratorical skills helping students to become more effective communicators.
