After an unexpected delay in Calais last night, we found ourselves stranded with a dog and limited funds, due to the fact that I had forgotten my PIN number. We booked into the B&B hotel (excellent value for money). Across the road was the Poivre Rouge. The staff were very friendly, and aloud us to take our dog in. The service was excellent and the food was superb. We both hanger steaks with all the trimmings and drinks for only 38. I highly recommend Poivre Rouge.

Very average food. Not much as dining experiences go. If you find yourself having to stay in Coquelles, it is always going to have a table though.

Another beautiful meal in the Poivre Rouge.. The Chautbriand was absolutely delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful (Welsh person trying to speak French).. Great resturant.

Good menu selection if a little confusing! Helpful staff to guide you through it. Good wine selection. Steak was delicious and carefully cooked to your liking. Good value.

Very lazy service. I had to ask several times for the English menu-card. The beer I ordered was not in stock. The duck-breast I ordered as main, was not in stock. Big potatoes with cream to the steak I ordered instead of the duck-breast was not in stock. No WiFi, no answer when I politely asked several times. The dessert I had to order three times. They always have forgotten what I ordered. All over in comparison to the one in Caen this one is not good enough for the price. One star, is one too much!!!

Cheap menu, 15 euro for a dish dessert is very fair. However, I did expect a bit more. Salades are big, but the other dishes are pretty small. They forgot 1 of our desserts, and it took a long time for the last one to arrive. In the end, they cheated a bit on the bill. Some of us that took the menu (with dish dessert) took a more expensive dessert that was included in the menu, while some others didn't take the menu and took a cheaper dessert (coffee) separately. On the bill however, they billed us for the more expensive desserts, while they put the cheap coffee as part of the menu.
