Beautiful riverside park. Located beside the shallower areas of the Puntledge River, so you can cool off with next to no worries but use caution, of course. Playground located in the grassy area on the way in. Very cool story time trail during the summer months too.

Trail follows the river for beautiful views. Mostly level walking. There will be muddy spots during wet season.

The park isn't a secret- but... It is a place that those who know do not share with those who don't - think the folks familiar with these trails would like to keep the place to themselves. Often you can a walk here without meeting anyone. Fairly isolated location, best direct route to park is the Lake Trail Road out of Courtenay. Recommend you park near the second yellow entrance gate when coming from town. Most trails here are easy level walking, with few obstacles such a roots & rocks. Though there are some hills, if you choose to do them. Majority of the trails are wide and/or actual dirt roads. There is the remains of a old buildings (formerly known as Bevan) - which is a interesting spot to visit. These picturesque trails, make this a lovely shady amble along a wide, tranquil river. There are a few hand made benches scattered throughout the park, but no picnic tables. Trails are marked & there is one outhouses in the park. The swimming hole is called \Palm Beach\, it has a somewhat sandy little beach for sunbathing. Also there is a hitching post in a shaded spot for the horses close by the beach. Mountain biker's, horseback rider's, runner's, hiker's(walker's) & dog's off leash all share these trails. Trails are marked & there is a map on a board at the trailhead. Probably a good idea to take a picture of the park map if you are unfamiliar with the trails and/or directionally challenged (like me).
