Really authentic Chinese food in Oxford!! Friendly staff and the Cantonese boss is really nice. Believe me, as a Chinese student I recommended this restaurant to each of my friends. absolutely hated it! the mixed starter for 2 is monotonous and everything tastes the same. It could be a week old and no one would know a difference as the fat was literally all over. 5 is an absolute rip off! we had to throw everything away. let alone the sauce..;/The main course was really small and not worth the price... 2 chunks of duck and the 2nd with king prawn was soaked in water. definitely a place we would not recommend to order from! we paid nearly 20 for something that ended in the rubbish bin. i wonder how this place is making any money with this horrific quality of food. DO NOT ORDER!!!! there are several other places serving much better food
After waiting 50 minutes for the food to arrive, and spending another 20 minutes explaining to the delivery driver how to arrive at the house I finally received the luke warm food I had ordered over an hour before. Living outside of walking distance but no more than a 10 minute drive, even with heavy traffic, I cannot fathom as to why to took nearly an hour and thirty minutes for the food to arrive. Once it finally had arrived, the order was not complete. I was missing my soup and sweet and sour pork, I called the "restaurant" to be informed that the driver would be on his way in the next 5 minutes. 45 minutes and several phone calls later the food arrived. Finally with my food here I tucked in, (I had started already whilst waiting for the remainder of my food to arrive), the food was bland and very greasy. Understandably I was not expecting for it to be a gleaming 5* meal though this was near inedible. I spent a total of 27.75 for 4 dishes, which I was accused of not having paid when the delivery man arrived for the second time. Overall for a quiet Thursday takeaway, this was truly awful. The food was tasteless, consumed only on the basis that it was the only food in the house. The service from the restaurant was nearly as bad and the delivery driver was a reflection of this.
When I visited at a lunch time, it was slightly crowded. However, I couldn’t understand such a long waiting time longer than 40mins for only 1 dish. Also, the food was terrible. I ordered the sour and sweet folk, but I couldn’t find the folk. There were only very small pieces of fried folks. I wasted my whole lunch time waiting for the worst food!
Disgusting. Never again. 1) Received an overfilled plate of over-salty tasteless mess (see photo) 2)Water was served boiling hot in glass without any warning given to customers 3) Green tea also boiling in glass 4) Staff were brainless and inattentive. 5) Chicken balls were okay.
