Here are our thoughts. Went here for date night looking for quality steaks and atmosphere. It appears reservations are highly recommended however it was not very busy. The high priced steaks are misleading. Ordered a martini which smelled very stinky, really not sure why. If you would like a place to just drink, this is your spot. We saw back of house staff with masks below their chins, we also saw front of house staff with their masks down as well, while talking to us. After the appetizer and cocktails, both sub-par, we were skeptical to spend 50 on a steak or anything else. We can’t weigh in on the food

Cozy restaurant and bar. Cool historic vibe and decor with wonderful and friendly staff. Great cocktail and beer selections. Food fell flat on flavor and a bit on the expensive side. Definitely worth a visit for the bar side of things. Looking forward to future visits.

We had a group of four couples, as the waitress began to take our drink orders she insisted she take the food orders as well. One of our friends was in the restroom and this seemed to annoy the waitress. We put in our orders and waited for our food. 3 of us ordered prime rib and another ordered a filet. The 4 40 dinners came out around room temperature. Expecting a warm piece of meat for that price we notified the server. She unpleasantly responded by asking what she could do to fix, none of us felt comfortable send our food back with her, nor did I want my prime rib microwaved. We were finishing our almost warm meals when one of my friends start gagging on her 18 glass of wine. It turned out the glass of wine had large chunks of sediment in it. We once again let the the joyful waitress know and her response was, and I quote, \It won't kill you.\ After that we requested to talk with the manager, she was next to no help and justified the wine sediment. A simple \sorry\ and decent attitude would have been sufficient. Long story short the service wasn't bad it was down right embarrassing. The food and drinks were good if you don't mind room temperature steaks. The owner needs to clean house before I'd ever recommend even looking at this place.

The Prime Rib French Dip is umami good! Tender, juicy, meat piled high with mushrooms and onions to be dipped in the raw and/or creamed horseradish makes a sandwich only a true sandwich person would love. Pair that with a signature drink from the bar, one will not walk away disappointed IMO. Make sure you try the Nickeloshka too! The staff here really are some of the best in Crested Butte. The history of the place before and after the fire is amazing which adds to the experience. Highly recommend The Wooden Nickel while in CB for some good memories.

A favorite of mine when visiting Crested Butte. First time I've been to Crested Butte in the fall. Always love to go visit. My first trip was 1986 and it still remains a quaint little community.
