This was a great little self-toured museum. While walking through, I could only imagine what life was life for the people spending time there. I was surprised to learn they imprisoned children at one time. Great experience!! And of course we bought treats to feed the donkeys!

This was a must see with the kids. They enjoyed listening to the history of the jail, walking the halls, and reading about former inmates. They even had the creepy hair standing up feeling in one of the jail cells.

We really enjoyed the Museum. It is interesting, well laid out and very affordable. It really gives a unique perspective on the history of Cripple Creek.

This was a real treat. To think this jail was in use up to 1992 is amazing. This is a must see if you visit Cripple Creek. It is on the west end of town on the main Street. Parking is free but there is a 3 per person cost to enjoy. I highly recommend.

I absolutely love history almost as much as I love Colorado. The mining history in the area directly around Colorado Springs is incredibly interesting. The gold rush to cripple Creek and all that it entailed is quite an amazing story. The jail is impeccably maintained. It has some of the best self-guided information about the jail and the gold camp times. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is in the area looking for a nice day trip.
