My dear elderly Russian friend and neighbour recently moved into Crosslaw House Carehome in Lanark. I must say that Lynne the Manager and all the Staff could not have done more to make her feel welcome and accepted. Her Russian tastes and requirements are very different from the norm. She particularly likes certain dishes The staff have gone the extra mile by providing the food she likes which makes her really feel really at home and she is greatly enjoying her food and eating healthily and seems to be settling in very quickly. When she was at home her life's work was feeding the birds in her garden at her bird table and feeders and watch them feed. Lynne and the staff have recreated her cherished pastime by buying her a bird table and feeders and and an abundant supply of bird food. As a visitor I have been very impressed by the facilities at Crosslaw. Today I was able to join in with the musical entertainment lead by a banjo and ukulele player singing old Scottish songs which was greatly appreciated by the audience as were the drinks and lovely snacks. My experience has been entirely positive. Staff are invariably kind, welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. One really special feature for me is the Care home dogs which gives so much pleasure. Finally, I have no hesitation in stating that the standards and care I have seen at this home are exemplary. It really is a home from home. Well done all the staff at Crosslaw House and thank you for looking after my dear friend.
