Fab little place to visit, even better that it's free! Great that dogs are allowed too (kept on lead) Limited parking tho.

The abbey is in ruins and is steeped in history. Many of the fruit trees from the abbey are still there as is the lake they would have held carp in. This is a little further away from the abbey. The one right next to the abbey is not part of the original buildings and was man made in the 1960s
This is something of a hidden gem, in the tiny village of Croxden the ruins site either side of a narrow lane. Information boards explain the ruins and its history. It must have been quite an impressive place in its day
We decided to go and have a mooch about on a grey Sunday afternoon, it was interesting to see how the ruins would have looked when it was standing. Educational and a good way to spend time wandering around. The stone coffins were a talking point for us!
Peaceful ruins in beautiful countryside. Very interesting and picturesque Nice for a picnic
