A highly enjoyable visit on the QE2 the Cunard liner which is now a floating hotel and restaurant. Visitors approach through a modern exhibition and greeting hall with memorabilia and historical facts and data on the ships previous significance in her transatlantic and cruise roles. Much of the ship is untouched and there is a wonderful faded elegance about her. I dined in the first class restaurant where they serve the original cuisine.Don’t forget to bring your jacket as dress codes apply. There are five restaurants, shops in the double up and original double down areas. The ship is an icon to the 70’s and has updated cabins for those wanting a more modern experience. Well worth a visit. Didn’t have a chance to visit the deck areas and thoroughly explore the ship but look forward to doing that next time. The visit was of particular significance to me because my wife and I embarked on the ship in 1974 for our honeymoon and sailed on her to New York. The downside was that in those days she was a two class ship and I went tourist class but on this occasion I got to dine in the first class restaurant!

Good t9 see the queen restored. Worst location!
Amazing ship and even greater guided tour!!! Thanks again to Peter (the guide) for the incredible stories he shared from his insider perspective! The ship has been very well preserved or restored and the common spaces look incredible! The only cons are the total absence of a gift shop or official merchandise.
Good view
