I am very grateful to Kate Cross and her management team for their kindness and understanding. From admission to discharge every staff member is passionate about mental health. Their is no "us and them"..at ANY level .Nurses engage with patients in fun activities, entertainment and trivia nights. I think this is so important. I think it is generous to allow your personality to help other people overcome their isolation and show their flair. Its also kind and healing to allow others to walk your pet ;) There is love and care in this place and I've witnessed staff go so far beyond the best care I ever expected (bye Sven). Facilitators are second to none as is my psychiatrist Dr Can. I strongly recommend Currumbin Clinic as a life saving resource. I could speak volumes more, believe me, but its best you have the experience yourself. Cam...the Gym instructor....I know I'm not alone in saying.....great attitude...His smile and positivity sums up the feel of the clinic, and Nurse Managers Alannah, Yonca, Jamie, Petrina...great compassion and can listen and juggle so many issues at the same time. Margaret and Marni....the care you gave me in hospital is only a small window in time, the memory of you assists me in the real world when I am vulnerable or when someone needs my help..... I think of you. Thank you All.

I am an Army veteran and have been struggling mentally for 5 years. I would have not survived the trauma from my service if not for Currumbin Clinic. I have received inpatients and outpatients care for the whole 5 years since my discharge. Thankyou for taking such great care of me. All the staff are so caring and professional. I have also been treated by Dr Tim McDonald, for 5 years and he is so understanding and totally sincere and helpful. Thankyou Currumbin Clinic you are wonderfull. I am so lucky to have your help and support only a phone call away.

Honestly I don't no where I would be if it wasnt for the support I have received from Currumbin clinic. The staff are professional and genuinely care about people's recovery. My life changed directions for the better due to some of the staff I met at the clinic.

Tim McDonald was great. All the people that rate this place poorly are disgruntled people that never faced and accepted there issue's head on. What you put in you get out. The disgruntled clients are the ones that go up to have a holiday, skip the classes for the beach or smoking outside. The facility is excellent.

I have been torn about leaving a review for months now, but it’s the responsible thing to do. I entered C.C willing and ready to throw myself into all aspects of the ‘program.’ It was beyond difficult to maintain that enthusiasm and attitude over the 8wks I was there. If it was not for one empathetic Allied Health Professional and two Nurses, I would not have had the heart to continue. A voluble, imprudent 2.I.C; verbal sexual assault by a male night nurse; an impassioned Director who is obviously under the pump to cut costs; NO rehabilitation; absolutely ZERO support, advice or plan offered on discharge; filthy rooms and bathrooms; ‘Chef’ prepared meals which consists of staples; non-compliant Registered Nurse to Nurse patient ratio. I am sure most Professionals and Staff have the best intentions here.....but it’s all about ‘bums-on-beds’ here. And it oozes out of everything and everyone. I went in there lost, I left with a permanent heart condition (oh yeah, the medication I was put on-even after numerous voiced concerns and a hospital/ambulance visit during stay-was palmed off as bad attitude and was not picked up by Currumbin Clinic GP’s). It could work for you if you visit during a quiet time (lol) and have one issue. I have sort legal advice

I don't even know where to start, this hospital and the staff within (both the CEO, nurses, doctors, facilitators & cleaners) have cultivated such a special environment, to allow people to mend and flourish at a time when it is much needed. The quality of care is second to none, the staff here truly have a passion for their job and it shows in the level of care you receive at Currumbin Clinic. I was a patient here for 8 weeks and I now can confidently and gratefully say that I am on the way to regaining my life back after years of being unwell on prescription medication for pain. Had it of not been for Currumbin Clinic I would still be on the pathway of destruction that I was previously living. I cannot speak highly enough about this hospital and what I have gained from the experience and information obtained within those four walls. If you put the hard work in, you will reap the rewards in return. Thank you to all the wonderful staff - Kate, Dr Tim, Sue, Reji, Leesa, Maria, Phil, Gary the list goes on.. Currumbin Clinic will always hold a very special place in my heart and mind, it will be remembered as a place that allowed me at a time of vulnerability - the time, patience and tools I needed to heal. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
