I have been going to Dr.Espinol for a few years now. I had my annual exam last week and I can promise i will not be going back to her. I have been struggling with an eating disorder for a very long time and have finally put myself in a program with a specialist and a dietician. When I first was called back, I let the nurse know that I do not want to know my weight due to an eating disorder than I am recovering from. She accepted this request. When Dr.Espinal came in, she immediately brought to my attention my weight gain. She said “you have gained almost 100lbs since 4 years ago!” 4 years ago I was just out of high school. 4 years ago I was not yet in a verbally abusive and controlling relationship that would last 3 years. 4 years ago I was not trying to overcome an eating disorder. 4 years ago I was extremely depressed. I let her know that I am currently recovering and working with a specialist and dietician. She said “oh ok so you’ll lose the weight” ...? I had to chuckle because what else can I do? She then proceeded to SHOW me my weights from the last 4 years. I have not seen my weight since 5 months ago, as I was instructed my my specialists not to. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning to dr. Espinol. Funny enough, a week later, I had an annual appt at my physicians and they were extremely accommodating and understanding when I mentioned my eating disorder. I was actually scared that they would treat me the same way.

I am so pleased I was referred to this Wonderful, Caring, Professional Doctor, as my Gyn. was no longer practicing. Dr. Espinal took the Time to Listen, and was Genuinely Interested in my Concerns!! She wasn't in a huge hurry to run out of the room, what a nice surprise!! She questioned why my breasts were so seemingly hard, and suggested immediacy for a Specialist, whom she referred. I will forever be Grateful to her, as she is a True GIFT to me from God!! She will forever and always be in my prayers of Gratitude!!:)
