My daughter was refered to unicorn ward in Sheffield from a general in Leicester. Because of covid i didn't get to meet the staff face to face. My daughter was there for 4 weeks and her progress was fantastic. Staff drove her down to leicester for home leaves. What staff i did meet were caring and very professional towards my daughter's care. Communication between myself and staff was really good they kept me updated every day on how my daughter was doing. My daughter said the food was really nice. One negative was there was no OT at weekends so she said weekends were quite boring. My daughter was discharged to home on 22/12/2020staff from Sheffield even brought her home.. She is doing really well. I would like to say a big thank you to Jackie and Tate as they were the two members of staff i had the most contact with.

This is a hospital staffed by some decent people, mixed with many tyrannical nurses. It is a humourless, boring, dictatorial place. Nurses are treated like dirt. Patients are treated like dirt. Bullying of nurses and housekeepers is rife. Senior nurses are bullies. Staff are overworked, intimidated, low paid and sick with worry. Constant threats from senior nurses about losing your job etc. Tyrannical Place. Close it down. Close it down.
My child was admitted here a few months ago, we had to get a court order to remove the child due to serious safety concerns. My child was told several times by senior nurses to get on with it and get killed. We were appalled by this and however my kid says the cleaners were pretty nice.
Excellent care provided for patients and very good carers involvement within the CAMHS units
Experience we have had with the hospital has been fantastic, they have always kept us informed with whats happening, the staff are very friendly and very helpful with any question we have needed answering. The facility itself is very easy to get to, weather it be by car, train or bus. I can not thank the hospital enough for the help they are giving to my Daughter. Thankyou to cygnet hospital especially the pegagus ward and Tina and Stacey they go out their way to phone me everyday to give me updates on my and daughter and to make sure that we at home are doing ok and reassure us that they are there to us in anyway they can
