Great park to walk through and watch the locals do their own thing. Located in central Dalian so there will be a lot of locals in the morning and evening.

Nice park on edge of downtown Dalian. Lower areas (north side near downtown) are more formal and very well kept. Paddle boats available on a couple of ponds, and small carnival rides for kids on the east end of the park. As you climb the hill the park gets quieter and less formal. If you take the path to the right of the giant soccer ball, you come out on an overlook along a road that that gives a good view of the park and downtown. Upper areas good for finding a bench and having some quiet time.

This park is right opposite the kempinski hotel. I see many activities going on throughout the day. There's also a small theme park for kids to enjoy. In China I have come accustomed to the older folk having fitness classes in parks and in open areas. This is one of those places where you will see many people exercising and all in all having fun. So get your shoes on, pull yer socks and get to this park...
