The Kitchen Larder is a beautiful setting and the cafe is bright, well designed with good distance between tables. There was no menu for teas/coffee/cakes instead the waitress recited it from memory! Why not have this included on your menu so customers can choose from the menu? Our cakes we're served first and we had a long wait for our hot drinks. Sadly, this let our otherwise amazing experience down. I know this sounds negative, but I think there is always room for improvement from 4* to 5* review.

The restoration yard is open. We were so happy to find out that it was again open. This place is lovely, the food is take away style for now. I attached a photo of the menu. The buildings and the park are stunning. It’s a family friendly option we everything you need to spend a great afternoon. On the sunny day you can enjoy a nice walk, there are tables all around the restoration yard. The coffee taste great and in eco friendly vegware packaging . We will definitely come back again and again.

We love this place. Lovely walks and so much to do for children. Shops always has lovely and different from your usual high street stuff to buy. It a shame that service in the coffee shops is very slow with the very limited seating inside but we always just get out drinks and stacks to take away and enjoy the beautiful outdoor

My wife and I have been many times for a casual coffee and cake, however -we returned today to find we had to pay 3 for parking to have a coffee outside - very disappointed so will not return - be aware!

Cafe was very busy on the Sunday we visited and very noisy. Lots of hard surfaces mean sounds are bounced not absorbed. Fifteen minutes and my head hurt with the constant clanking of cups on saucers. However there were tables coming available regularly, staff were promptly clearing and they were very upbeat despite the endless flow of new customers. Teas were decent and cakes very tasty. The fruit scones were especially delicious. Will definitely return on a week day when it's more relaxing apparently. The other internal shops had some lovely items but were horrendously expensive. Parking was good, wheelchair access was good, albeit some cafe customers created mayhem by moving chairs to seat up to 5 on a table for 2. I didn't realise people in wheelchairs were invisible till I took a user out for the day. Not the Restoration Yards fault but maybe they could be firmer or seek guidance on how to improve access.

Horrified to see that the shop here has a range of items, notebooks, pencils etc with the F word sitting at children's eye level on a table - not very family friendly.

Gorgeous place to visit after a long walk around Dalkeith Country Park. I can personally recommend the ginger and lime cake which comes as a large slab which could easily be shared. The shop is full of beautiful items which are ideal as gifts for almost anyone. The courtyard is beautiful, especially on a sunny day. I will return.
