Great shop for second hand books, the proprietor was in good spirits when we went in, will definitely return!

Lovely place to visit. I shy away from conventional shopping but I do love books, so that's my exception. Wish I could've spent more time here, but I'm happy with my haul. A good range of lovely titles and even a couple of rare first edition gems (jealous!) Books are secondhand but clearly well loved. The rest of the town felt so much like a typical tourist trap, so this was extremely refreshing. Atmosphere was pleasant and cozy. Also helped that when I visited this week the friendly cashier who helped me out had such a cool aesthetic and style, but I was too shy to compliment her then. The whole store (staff, stock, aesthetic) just gently carries sincerity and quirkiness which you'd never find in mainstream bookstores - and I know the staff's been reading reviews, so keep up the great work!

Great selection of books floor to ceiling, there’s no corner of this shop left empty. You’ll find books you’ve never dreamt existed. We had a lovely chat with the owner and will be sure to visit again when we’re next in Dartmouth

The Queen's Flowerpot; I loved this as a kiddie, but lost it, among others, in a house move or in a cull. Promising to read it to a pal, I researched the title, the author, the publisher- to no avail. It was published in 1968, the year I was born. This being my 50th birthday, I have been hunting hard. In Dartmouth, i was obliged to search all the bookshop Children sections around. Having explained to Lucy, she suggested some ways to search the worldwide lists. And i found this book, in Canada, the very same day. To say i am ecstatic is an understatement. Can not fathom why more booksellers haven't been as helpful. Never losing sight of it again! Mwah!

This is a wonderful, proper secondhand bookshop of the type you rarely find these days. I can spend a happy minute getting the book I want, or a happy hour finding a book I never knew existed.

This used to be my first port of call when visiting Dartmouth...but...what has happened ? Tired dog-eared books, with never any new stock. THEN I read the !! obvious \I am not buying any new books because I have no money!\ A word to the wise...buy more books & you will have customers & customers bring money. How sad to see this once iconic bookshop fall into decline & sadly with no welcome for customers eager to buy.
