They installed a heat pump. Very professional, efficient, pleasant and helpful. It was a pleasure dealing with the installers. They do contract out the necessary work for the electrical connection, which is separate. Their office support has also been very commendable and the sales agent has been very personable and helpful. We just had this installed so can't say anything about the quality of the product and follow up technical support.

We have had our system for approximately 3 years. It is an 18000btu main unit with 2 heads, 1 x 12000btu and 1 x 9000btu. Since my install, my heting oil consumption is down approximately 70%. I can't shut down the bolier because it still heats our basement and also supplies all of our hot water. Since it was installed I've had to have the fan motor replaced in the 12000btu head, and the complete 9000btu head replaced under warranty. The actual repairs didn't cost anything, but when the system seemed to loose its efficiency, it was determined that I had a refrigerant leak. The investigation cost me 300 for a recharge of refridgerant and addition of die to help locate the leak. When they returned to identify the leak, they the leak was in the 9000btu head. They told me they had to contact Lennox to get approval for the repair. In the time it took Lennox to get back to them, I had lost almost all the refridgeeant they had previously put in costing me an additional 200 when they replaced the head. Not only do I feel that the refridgerant should have been covered, but im surprised that they haven't gotten into trouble with Enviroment Canada for knowingly allowing the realease of a regulated greenhouse gas into the atmosphere. The equipment does the job well, when working properly.

I tried calling this company to have my current heat pump moved. I left a message which was never returned. A few days later I went to their website and used their web form to "leave a message" and this was not returned as well. Better to find out before I hire them to do work I guess. Will never try to contact them again. Good luck with customer service like that.

A very good example of a poor company. Product quality is garbage, along non responsive staff, and poor quality labourers. Avoid them if you like saving time and money. I purchased a heat pump and installation from Sandy, who was not responsive from the very beginning. This should have been a red flag but we still went ahead with purchasing the unit and having this company install the heat pump. Within 3 months the unit and system stopped working. They repaired it but another 6 months the system failed again. Each time it came down to missing parts or a faulty thermostat. Now they want money to repair a product they didn't install correctly the first time around. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else.

Great experience, very professional and down to earth. Navigated the economic crisis as best they could adapting on the fly. Obtained a quote for central heat from Costco, and Shines Energy is their sub-contractor performing the quote and installation of units. You may be able to get a cheaper quote elsewhere but there service, quality and professionalism is a reason to choose this company. At the completion of the installation there were no hidden fees past the quote agreed upon. For us as customers we were aware that we requested work could be delayed due to the economic shutdown to reduce the spread of COVID. We started the process well before the outbreak happened. The Installation of our unit was suppose to be completed the day the country shut down. Just was unlucky timing on our part. But that being said Shines Energy did what they could to make sure their customers as well as their workers were informed and safe before restarting work.

We found Shines Energy through Costco Services. We gave our name and number to the person at the desk, and received a call from Scott the next day. He came within a day or two to look at the layout of our home and the condition of our electrical panel, and to discuss our needs and wants. In addition to the standard mini-split in the basement and on the main floor, Shines provided a 3rd unit in the attic, with ducts to each of the 3 bedrooms. What a difference! The installation went very easily. The crews arrived on time, were quiet and respectful, and finished the entire installation in a day with minimal mess. We would definitely recommend Shines Energy for heating and cooling needs!
