You can get some good deals here if you shop prices against their sales with their competitors. Their staff members may have some knowledge but generally do not. About half of the fish I've bought here die in short order, so don't count on healthy fish from this location. I've also found their animals to be healthy looking but not always in clean cages or with adequate food or water, but that's why you buy them, to take them home and give them a better home to live in!

I will always come here for my pet supplies because the employees take good care of their animals and continually improve their pet knowledge to help new pet parents. I got 3 of my small animals here and they have been happy and healthy for the past year.

I really tried to give Petco in Davis my business this evening. My girlfriend and I went in to purchase 7 fish, a couple of aquatic plants, fish food and aquarium water solution. We patiently waited after we picked out our fish hoping someone would come over and help us. Nobody approached us so my girlfriend kindly asked one of the 3 employees standing at the front register if someone could help us purchase some fish. One of the ladies was just in the fish department and ran off after she helped a customer only to return to the register, talk with the other employees and then leave the store. The other girl said ‘yes, as soon as we are done,’ whatever that means. So, we waited another 15-20 minutes only to see the girl we spoke with avoid us and help another customer who didn’t have the challenging request of catching and bagging up fish. She simply avoided us and I really believe just didn’t want to go through the process of bagging up fish; probably because it isn’t her section in the store. Horrible service and I do not intend on ever purchasing from Petco again. You lost a lifetime of pet supply business from me, my girlfriend, family, whoever reads this, and all that I tell. Nice job guys! Your actions have consequences. You waisted over an hour of my time (including the 20 minute drive each way). I’m really not one to complain but I’m hoping somebody recognizes the pure disregard for ones’ time - especially you ladies working at Petco on 04/01/21 from 6:15 PM - after 7:00 PM.

I got what I needed. It was in stock so it was helpful. I also like the option of generic products vs name products. They are all good. We just have a fish, but they have so many different pets and products for varying pets so it's a great place to go.

We just had a really bad experience with the PETCO Groomer at this Davis store. They didn't trim our dog nails or paws hair because they said he didn't like it, while every other groomer has done it in the past with no problem. They also did cut hair on his ears, which we did't ask for, and they did a really unprofessional work. Now we'll need to take him to an actual groomer to get it fixed. It was very expensive and dissapointing. When we complain at the store, they discounted 10 for not being able to do the nails. But, we had to pay for all the other SPA things they did that we didn't even care about.

The Manager Jess was so extremely helpful. She taught me all about planted aquariums and gave me lots of tips to ensure my success. I'm looking forward to going into the Petco in Davis and buying my fish when my tank is established

Great care/grooming for our dog, who desperately needed it. The staff is friendly, efficient, effective. Warning, though: they don't give the "20% discount" (promised on the website) if you don't find/print out a coupon in advance.
