Very fitting that I make a comment for Dr Matthews on Doctor appreciation Day. Dr Matthews is a wonder surgeon all across the board. Understanding, takes the time to listen to you and then responds with answers with terms that you will understand. Wonderful bedside manner that is almost as important to me as the operation itself. His technique lets the wound heal faster so I can get on with my life as he knows how important it is to get back to your Everyday tasks. His staff is first class and well trained to answer any questions you might have before he comes in to see you. They are very kind. I’m thrilled with Dr Matthews and the results with my healing.

Incredible reception staff very easy to deal with my information and were very prompt. The nursing staff was very compassionate caring and funny. When I met doctor Matthews he is a very nice and caring doctor,took the time to explain everything to me of what was in for my future. I can attest that Dr. Matthews is much better at what he does than the previous Dr. That I went to for the exact same wrist 2 weeks prior and was told that there was no break when infact it was fractured. And I just returned for the follow up and he is so gentle when administering shots in my wrist and hand, that I didn't even really mind. Unlike the other guy, where I left in tears.

The entire process of finding Dr. Mathews via a very well done website to all the reminders and online Heath history process was extremely professional, friendly and easy. When I met the Dr at his office he was pleasant and explained things in detail. He did perform an injection in a joint and he was very compassionate and gentle. As an OR nurse of 30 years that has seen a lot of doctors on both sides of the process I was pleased that I had made such a good choice.

I had been experiencing worsening pain in my elbow and when I could not bear it anymore I went to the “walk in clinic” and was seen within a few minutes. An appointment was made for an MRI and 14 hrs after that I was meeting with Dr. Mathews and he gave me an unexpected diagnosis of an elbow tumor and I was referred to the Mayo Clinic in Jax. When I called the “Mayo” an hour later they already had my referral and had set me up with their orthopedic oncology dept. I was so relieved that the process happened so quickly as I was in considerable pain. The people at the Orthopedic Clinic of Daytona are caring and capable. I’m very grateful.

My Son Heath broke his pinky finger at School on Thursday at 12:00 PM. After visiting his doctor and getting X-rays at the hospital he was referred to a very reputable orthopedic doctor for the next day. It was determined on Friday morning due to the severity of the break that a hand specialist was needed. Dr Matthews understanding the severity of the issue and obviously being a parent himself was able to see my 8 year old son the same day and by 3:00 PM on Friday his finger was set back in place. Thank you to your Great team and Go Gators!
