TL:DR version: De Hoyos took a 7000 deposit 15 months ago, has done no work, and refuses to return our money. Detailed version: In November of 2019 we hired De Hoyos to do a significant amount of concrete work on our property. We signed a contract with him, paid a 7000 deposit, and as of February 2021 there has been no progress. No permits, no removal of the old, no installation of the new, nothing but excuses. Whenever we asked about when work would start, we were told that they were having trouble getting supplies due to the pandemic. According to his Google reviews though he's had plenty of supplies to do other jobs in 2020. Our contract stated that if the work was not completed by the end of 2020 we would receive our deposit back in full. At the start of 2021 we requested our money back and he asked if we could \talk about it.\ I decided it would be best if he talked to my lawyer instead, as I don't have time to listen to more excuses. Through my lawyer we negotiated that he would have two weeks to return the deposit. Two weeks went by and I'd received nothing. My lawyer called and he said that he had mailed the check so we gave it another week. Still no check. We have escalated to small claims court for breech of contract.

We had a stamped concrete patio done and it is amazing!! We did our due diligence and had several quotes from different contractors. After reviewing his quality of work it was hands down the best we have seen. His crew was very professional, fast and cleaned up very well. Save yourself a massive amount of time and frustration. Don’t contract with De Hoyos. Sharing my story after viewing the most recent review from Kristina King. June 2020- Andy bids to replace all concrete on property. Contract is signed and deposit is given. Check is cashed next day at bank. Andy states he’s filing for permit. July 2020- no permit applied for with city. Excuses and work delayed. States the city is behind due to covid. August 2020-no permit applied for with city. Excuses and work delayed. Always going to start next week. Tells me there is a new girl at the city and probably could find the paperwork when I called him out on filing for a permit yet. September 2020-no permit applied for with city. Excuses, work delayed. Says it’s always starting in 2 weeks now. October 2020-no permit applied for with city. He tells me he filed it. Must be a filing issue. Has to go out of town for a family member in Texas. Work will start in 2 weeks. November 2020-no permit applied for with city. Andy admits he never filed for a permit. stated his wife would mail a check or he would start in 2 weeks. Then, after no check, he would return the money but he had to go out of town first. Then he was in town but had covid. December 2020- still no work, no permit on file with city and no deposit returned. For 6 months I received countless excuses. I finally contacted city for a statement in writing confirming a permit had not been applied for. Andy finally returned my call and I told him I was taking further action. After a few more weeks, he came by with a check. A check for the wrong amount. He brought another check by for the difference 3 days later. Both checks did clear. Save yourself a massive amount of time and frustration. Don’t contract with De Hoyos. After this experience, I was hesitant to contact someone else. But I needed a garage floor redone. I called De Le Torre Concrete. Joaquin is legit and turned the project around in 3 weeks.

Team was very professional and showed they know how to pour and finish cement. Owner kept us informed of timing. Overall I would use De Hoyos Concrete for any concrete I had in the future.

Andy and his team finished our patio today, and i must say the only word that comes to mind is \PERFECTION\. The crew worked super hard to ensure top quality start to finish. Andy inspected the work every couple days to ensure everything was completed to his standards. We are thrilled and cannot wait to start relaxing and entertaining on our new stamped concrete patio. We are having his team return next spring to add another step in back, and to recreate our entire front walk way. Hire this team as they are SUPERIOR to the rest!
