Beautiful area to park for a hike or even for a couple of nights. Deadwood was pretty packed with a motorcycle rally that was happening in Sturgis. So it was nice to get away to this more remote location. There were some dirt roads but nothing too intense. We didn't need to put the rig into 4x4. Best part, there was a storm during sunset that changed the color of the sky. It was astonishingly beautiful. Also, we were able to find some wild raspberries that were just in season as well as some Oregon grape root and red clover. Awesome place to forage There were alot of hornets around but we didn't have to worry about mosquitoes.

A must stop and View the tower, is steep center staircase but has rails. It is 1.2 miles up and around the loop but beautiful views. One can see devils tower even.

Very informative signs on the trails, and some of the views are absolutely gorgeous. I'd definitely recommend these trails. The road up there was really rough on our older van though.

The view makes it all worthy of just eating crackers

This is a truly fitting memorial to the long friendship between Bullock and Roosevelt and provides stunning views of the Black Hills. The walk up to the tower is short (but it's all up hill!). The stairs in the tower are steep, so small children may have difficulty, but the view is worth the trip even if you don't climb the tower. There are plenty of picnic areas (although some are a bit overgrown) and a pit toilet.

Gorgeous. Beautiful in the early Fall, too.

A Nice Piece of History, Nice Hike, and a Scenic Pamorama of the Black Hills. I visited this place in Auguat of 2018 and learned that this monument, and observation point and picnic site, commemorates the friendship of President Theodore Roosevelt and Deadwood's Seth Bullock. As a result of their association, much of the Black Hills became protected, federal land. The hike from the parking area is not strenuous and when I visited, there was no one there but a few squirrels and myself. The panoramic view from the top of the tower is lovely.
