People are very nice, and very helpful to each other. I hope that love stays the same until Jesus comes.

My uncle was transferred there and the rooms were dirty. Since COVID-19 they have been mixing the patients where the not sick patients can be back sick with the sick ones.

My dad was just transferred to Deanwood and I was concerned because of the mixed (but mostly bad) reviews I read. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival at how nice and helpful the staff were from initial entry until exit. The lobby was nice and clean. Prior to arriving, they contacted us to let us know he was there, they contacted us for authorization to provide medical services. When my sister and I arrived, we were able to meet his doctor and discuss his status and we talked to his nurses about his on-going care. We had a couple of concerns about how they were caring for my dad, but ounce we addressed them with the staff and doctors, we felt better and I am hopeful for an ongoing good experience. Other issues that we encountered were minor, but worth noting. The time that we were there, we kept hearing this loud disturbing buzzing, that we learned was other residents pushing their call button for assistance. It was on-going and very annoying. Also, I was asked by two separate residents to push them somewhere in their wheelchair. One wanted me to push her in the elevator. I was concerned how she would get out upon making it to her floor. The other was outside and asked me to push her back in the building. I helped them both, no problem, but my thought was how is it that they could end up somewhere in the facility without support to get back and forth. Otherwise, so far so good.
