I'm this old 62 year old woman. 25 years post bypass surgery Way before there was fancy stuff. I was cut from stem to stern. Dr. Wittgrove said one thing that changed my life. I now weigh 145, been down to 117 when I first had surgery. But, without this doctor, I could say I'd be 500 pounds. Hahahaha. I'd actually be dead! 25 years later, me and my old 62 yeat old,v 100 pounds less life. No diabetes. Thank you Dr. Wittgrove! I love you!!!

I had the Roux-en-Y surgery in 2005. I weighed 319 lbs at my heaviest, and had type II diabetes. After the surgery, I was loosing weight so fast I couldnt keep clothes fast enough or long enough to hardly wear them more than a couple times and had to buy smaller ones. I went from a 54" waist to a 30 inch waist

I love Dr. Wittgrove. He saved my life! He performed BPD on me 23 years ago and he needed to do a revision because over the years, I became vitamin deficient and I was getting very ill. Now I feel very active and healthy! And thanks to Tracy for teaching me to read food labels so I can keep away from fats and sugars. Their office assistant/nurse, Chauntiele, is very sweet and caring. I would recommend Dr. Alan Wittgrove to anybody who is looking for a AWESOME weight loss surgeon!

I had a great experience post operation with Dr. Wittgrove. That changed. Some time in 2004 or 2005 they transitioned away from Alvarado Medical Center and the person that I had been talking to over the phone changed. We had a set phone appointment and they would call me to check up on me. I would let them know how I was doing weight wise (I had done really well- maintained a really great weight through diet and exercise for a period of time). I felt like they were bored with me. That and they split from where I had surgery. The phone calls stopped. I am working on an exercise and diet program that has me consuming more calories than I think my body can handle post op, so I called. They won't even chat with me without paying an additional 125. They call it a "back on track" fee. This seems like a new thing to me and all I wanted was advice on caloric intake. They advertised to me that they would always be there to help out. I am not feeling it right now.
